Kaiser Permanente premium payment updates

On September 1, 2023, Kaiser Permanente will be making a change to our credit card payment policy, and we want to remind you about premium payment options and give you details about the change.

As a reminder, when groups receive a bill from Kaiser Permanente, they can visit our Online Biller portal at kp.org/mas/onlinebilling where they will have two options for payment.

  1. ACH, or bank account, transfers: This payment option is available at no charge and remains an effective way to pay monthly premiums. There are no changes to this payment option.
  2. Credit Card: Paying via credit card is also an option for Kaiser Permanente customers. However, effective September 1, 2023, any time a group attempts to make payment for past due, current, or future monthly premiums there will be a surcharge assessed if payment is made by credit card. If groups wish to continue to pay by this method, they will see a notification of the surcharge that will be applied to their payment starting on September 1 of this year. To avoid the surcharge, the ACH payment method is an alternative option.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to make it easier for you and your clients to do business with Kaiser Permanente, while aligning with industry and market standards. Please contact your Sales Executive or Account Management representative with any questions.
